PM Modi held talks with Australian PM Scott Morrison

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with the Prime Minister of Australia Mr. Scott Morrison on the sidelines of India-ASEAN and East Asia Summit 2019 at Bangkok on 4 November 2019. Highlights: ♦ The leaders reviewed the progress in the bilateral relations between the countries. The frequent high-level meetings and exchanges at all levels between India and Australia have created positive momentum in the relationship in the countries. ♦ They reaffirmed the desire to strengthen India-Australia bilateral relations. ♦ They also committed a free, open, transparent, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region for promoting peace, security, stability, and prosperity.  ♦ They discussed the strategic and economic interests of both countries as it opened up opportunities for working together bilaterally, regionally, and multilaterally. ♦ They agreed to enhance cooperation in defence, maritime domain, security fields, and tackle the threat of extremism and terrorism. ♦ PM Modi invited the Australian Prime Minister to visit India in January 2020 for the Raisina Dialogue.
