Shri G Kishan Reddy inaugurates 20th All India Conference

Shri G. Kishan Reddy inaugurated the 20th All India Conference of Directors of Fingerprint Bureaus.  The conference attended through organizations/ States/UTs. Around 80 Fingerprint experts/delegates from across the country attended the inaugural function.  The importance of fingerprints in crime investigation in the efforts of NCRB in rolling out the National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS). The Central Fingerprint Bureau in NCRB is following best practices in maintaining fingerprint records of criminals.The implementation of NAFIS will help Police in solving crime cases quickly and emphasized the need to have adequate strength in the State Fingerprint Bureaus.The deliberation of ideas in the 2-day conference to make the fingerprint facility more useful and accessible to investigators. The Joint Secretary (Woman Safety) Smt. Punya Salila Srivastava stressed upon capacity building of Fingerprint fraternity through collaboration with academic institutions and international agencies. National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS).  It is an Australian fingerprint and palm print database and matching system to assist law enforcement agencies across Australia and the Department of Immigration and Border Protection to establish the identity of persons and to help solve crimes.
