Naval bilateral exercise between India and Bangladesh is being held

The maiden naval bilateral exercise between India Navy (IN) and Bangladesh Navy (BN) is being held from 12 October to 16 October 2019 at Visakhapatnam, India.  Aim: The IN-BN exercise aims to strengthen mutual ties between India and Bangladesh. Participating Naval ships: Two naval vessels, Bangladesh Navy Ships (BNS) Ali Haider, a Type 053 frigate, and BNS Shadinota, a Type 056 stealth guided missile corvette, are participating in the first bilateral exercise.  CORPAT: Before this naval exercise, BN-IN ships undertook Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) exercise from 10 October to 12 October 2019. It is the second edition of IN – BN CORPAT in the North Bay of Bengal.  The exercise was aimed to increase the relationship between the countries. It also aims to increase the scope of joint exercise by sharing best practices in Flying Operations and other seamanship evolutions, including Vertical Replenishment by Integral helicopters of Indian Navy undertaking onboard BN Ships.
